Community Activities
We have been a part of the community since 1981, and we strive to give back to the community through various outreach activities. Newberg Veterinary Clinic’s location makes us convenient to families in Newberg, Sherwood, Dundee, Hillsboro, and McMinnville, as well as the surrounding areas. Below are some of the ways we support our community.
Shadow Students/Veterinary Externs
One of our priorities is education. We educate clients on a daily basis about their pets, and we also are very open to shadowing students following the Veterinarians and staff to learn about Veterinary Medicine. We have individual students shadow, as well as groups of students come through the clinic. We support students from the local schools, Girls Scouts, 4-H Groups, etc. We are also active in future Veterinarians by supporting and teaching Veterinary Student Externs.
Community Activities
Our team is involved in several community activities. The community is wonderful in supporting us, and we want to give back to the community in appreciation for their support. A few activities we have been involved in include Newberg Old Fashioned Festival Pet Parade, State Fair Veterinary Assistance, and donations to local groups for fundraisers.
The Newberg-Dundee Police Department K9 Unit
Comprised of two canine handlers and a supervisor. Newberg Veterinary Hospital has teamed up with the K-9 unit to provide veterinary care for our canine partners. These dogs provide an invaluable service to the department and their health is very important to keep them active and working. We are honored to be able to offer that care for our 4-legged officers!
Local Shelter Support
Newberg Veterinary Hospital has long been a supporter of local adoption and shelter groups. We work closely with them to make sure all pets get the care that they deserve. We have partnered with many agencies to help them provide spay/neuter and medical assistance when it is needed.
Wine & Whiskers
Newberg Veterinary Hospital has been a sponsor of the Newberg Animal Shelter Wine and Whiskers Auction for 5 years. The mission of this annual event is to raise funds in support of the shelter animals in our community.
In addition, we work closely with the Newberg Animal Shelter to provide wellness care, on-site veterinary visits, and medical support for all of their pets. Many animals who are presented to the Newberg Animal Shelter require care and medication to help them return to health before they find their forever homes. We are proud to help support the work that this wonderful shelter does in our community.
